A comedy about the post-war housing crisis in Prague, which several young people are struggling with. The young puppeteer Josef lives in a sublet with the singer Šimůnek, who is currently missing. After returning from a trip, Josef discovers that a demobilized member of the foreign army, a Slovak woman named Elena, has been given a decree for the apartment. And she does not want a sublet. The couple starts looking for a new sublet, but is unsuccessful due to the housing crisis. However, since the two young people have fallen in love in the meantime, the solution seems obvious...

Tenants are moving into new apartments in the housing estate, including a young couple. One of the neighbors has a special hobby: spying on their neighbors in their intimate moments, which the apartment building affords him. His visit also falls into this passion. The female employees of the poultry-processing factory find relief from their monotonous work in chatting about weddings and marriages. The very young Zdena (Marta Vancurová), too, dreams about a white veil and an entourage of bridesmaids. On her return home from work, she runs into a peculiar man on an abandoned road who pertinaciously offers to read her palm for a few crowns to buy soup. His augury is rather usual - wealth and poverty, suffering and happiness. Then however, he declares that Zdena must marry exactly on 3 November of that year otherwise she will be unhappy.

An intriguing story about a family and a manor house (where some terrible crimes were committed in the past by a member of that family) adapted from a novel with the same title by Tabajara Ruas.

Pedro, a widowed musician who lives with his granddaughter, begins to have episodes of forgetfulness and is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. While dealing with the illness, Pedro begins to have hallucinations of his deceased wife.
